3G - new generation of mobile communication
The third generation (3G) -is the general definition for standards and technologies which provide high speed data transmission in networks of mobile communication. 3G is essentially new approach to communication and information. These are potentials of the mobile phone, still yesterday seemed improbable.
UMTS (Universal Mobile Telecommunications Systems) - the standard of mobile communication 3G, officially recognized in Russia as the next step of development of GSM. UMTS - the most widespread standard 3G in the world. Today 70 % of operating networks 3G work in standard UMTS.
Today MegaFon opens to subscribers network potentials of UMTS standard. Moreover, due to application in the network of standard UMTS of technology HSDPA "MegaFon" provides to subscribers service 3,5G – next evolutionary part of the third generation of development of networks of mobile communication.
HSDPA (High Speed Downlink Packet Access) is a powerful technology which is natural continuation of standard UMTS. Using the technology HSDPA in network UMTS data transmission speed (now up to 3,6 Mbit/sec) greatly increases. In the long term within the limits of the given technology speed up to 14,4 Mbit/sec will be provided.
